How I work
My approach is rooted in Psychosynthesis, an integrative psychology that sees the potential in everyone. It allows us to work on your unique journey of soul-making.
Psychosynthesis is non-pathologising, holistic and person-centred. It integrates elements from psychoanalysis, transpersonal, humanistic and Jungian psychologies and existentialism. It allows us to explore our past, while never leaving us stuck there. The “will” is crucial - our ability, and indeed our responsibility, to change patterns and follow our inner guidance to a more expanded, fulfilling life.
The relationship between you and me is key to the psychotherapeutic process. As such, I create a warm, empathetic and empowering space for you to explore who you are and grow into your potential.
I have a transpersonal lens to psychotherapeutic work, meaning, as well as working on your difficulties, we work on nurturing your intuition, help you to find your authentic voice and live a values-based life.
My approach is embodied and trauma-informed, influenced by somatic psychotherapy, an understanding of the mindbody connection and polyvagal theory.
We are all hugely impacted by our environment and the world around us. Systemic issues matter and influence how safe we are able to feel. I don’t shy away from complex social topics when working with clients. In fact, Psychosynthesis explicitly calls for us to engage with the world around us.
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
― Howard Thurman
